Why Araneae?

I used another firm for my project, but there are still loose ends and I'm not totally satisfied. Should I stick with them or hire a new firm?

There is no right or wrong answer to this important question. Ultimately, it depends on your relationship with the firm you have been working with; how well you think they understand you and your problem; whether their approach was calibrated to your needs (the right balance of rational, informed, innovative, and creative, which is different for every client and project). Most importantly, did you have fun working with them and did they make you laugh in the midst of total chaos?

Re-Hire the Same Firm?

Pros

  • Their team understands the project like the back of their hand

  • You already know their team members and may have a great working relationship with them

  • Predictability in how the engagement will go

Cons

  • Formulaic approach to problem solving may not work to address the sticky points that remain after their initial effort

  • After deep engagement with a project, blind spots develop that are difficult or impossible to identify and resolve

Switch to Araneae?

Pros

  • A fresh pair of eyes can see patterns and problems in a way that someone engrained in the project can not

  • Unique, bespoke process of investigating will lead to different insights

  • May be able to build relationships or access information in a way the first firm could not

  • Active working relationship with experts in a variety of areas that can be pulled in for subject matter expertise as needed, all under the Araneae Consulting umbrella.

Cons

  • It will take some time to get to know each other and the project context

  • Can not tackle projects requiring large numbers of staff for boots on the ground remediation

Testimonials

Working with Lucia Mokres has been a meaningful and valuable experience for me, as CEO of an early stage company. She has provided critical coaching, advising, and thought partnership through key challenges of growing an early-stage company — from fundraising strategy and board dynamics to big-picture vision and execution.

But what sets her apart is the way she supports me and the emotional stamina needed in this entrepreneurial journey. This job can be incredibly intense and often lonely. Lucia understands that deeply, and she brings a grounded, intuitive approach that helps me positively reframe my perspective, even in the most challenging moments.

I’m incredibly grateful to have her in my corner and would recommend her wholeheartedly to any founder or executive navigating the complexity of building a company.
